Zadar’s unique Sea Organ is something you must not miss if visiting Zadar. Designed by the architect Nikola Basic – this combination of art, music and nature is located on the western side of Zadar’s main promenade.
The Organ consists of several marble stairs that gradually descent into the Adriatic sea and the 35 pipes of various length with whistles that play 7 chords of 5 tones when the sea waves push the air into the organ.
It’s difficult to truly understand the unique musical properties of this “instrument” – so the best thing is to experience it in real life!
