Đurović Cave is a unique tourist and speleological attraction found within the confines of Dubrovnik Airport. It is extremely beautiful and features a large number of stalactites and stalagmites. Investigation of the cave and activities of preparing it for tourism lasted for 7 years, the pinnacle of which was the celebratory opening ceremony on 7 August 2008.
The cave is approximately 156 m long, with its lowest level at 25 m below the runway. Air temperature in the cave is pleasant 16°C all year long. The volume of Đurović Cave is approximately 9,000 m3. Archaeological remains (various bones and ceramic pottery) found in the cave date back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. According to some sources, the cave is some 5,000 years old.
